My name is Johnedel Matias,
I am an Igorot-Filipino Canadian, a person of Indigenous decent from the northern mountains of the Philippines. My ancestry is of Ibaloi heritage coming from my parents of Bokod and Kabayan, Benguet. I spent my childhood in Benguet until my family moved to Canada in 1997 where I have now spent most of my life.
I specialize in portraits and event photography due to on my work with BIBAK British Columbia as well as The Portrait Stories and Brellow. My focus is on capturing expressions and characteristics of people and their backgrounds. I document weddings, special events and traditional portraits with the eye of portraying who you are and what is meaningful to you.
